a community of faith, hope, love and justice

Current Blocs

At Watershed, one of our greatest values is relationships, and there's no better way to experience relationships than in a Bloc.  Here is a list of current Bloc opportunities:

Preface

This bloc is currently full.  Contact us if you would like to get on our watch list for the next Preface, which will begin on September 17th.

Ever show up late for a movie and realize that the first 10 minutes set the stage for the entire plot? Or have you ever gotten lost en route to a great party, only to spend most of the night trying to catch up on the conversations that a faulty GPS caused you to miss? In many ways, this is what it can feel like for a person to enter a new church community. Preface was created because we value the new person at Watershed - it exists so that someone new has an opportunity to take part and weigh in on vital conversations our community has been having, and to help a person develop a greater taste of the culture and ethos of Watershed. We are convinced that people begin to form a clearer picture of how they fit into community when they get to know others, ask questions and engage meaningful conversations about life, relationships, faith and who we are as the church - if you find yourself intrigued by the possibilities, Preface could be the Bloc for you. Preface meets on Tuesday evenings over the course of seven weeks; the centerpiece of discussion is the book Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell.

Relationality

Relationality is an ongoing exploration into the mysterious dynamics of our relational and spiritual lives. Through facilitated discussion, Relationality engages people across a diverse spectrum of backgrounds, experiences, beliefs and relational seasons of life. Relationality explores questions that address our identity, the health and vitality of our most significant relationships, the core beliefs and values that drive the most important decisions of our life, and the connection that exist between our sexuality, spirituality and humanity. Expect engaging, thought-provoking discussions and relational connectivity as we explore the potential for our lives to be informed and impacted by something bigger than ourselves.

One

Resumes in September.

Are you interested in a happily-ever-after, sex-filled, problem-free marriage?  Keep dreaming...but if you want to explore the kind of intimacy, connection and "oneness" God really wants us to have with Him and each other, we invite you into an experience and exploration called "One," Watershed's marriage bloc. In a healthy marriage, two people are getting to know each other deeply, accept each other (no matter what), and love each other completely, but it doesn't happen automatically. The One Bloc provides a safe place for couples to share both their victories and their struggles, work through some of the common challenges that every couple faces, and explore what it means for "two to become one"  - all of it together in community with the love and support of the other couples around you.  If this sounds like something you and your spouse would benefit from, come join the One Bloc and make an investment in your marriage!

The Forum is a Bloc created to give you space to share thoughts and wrestle with ideas, but the bent of The Forum extends beyond the purpose of dialogue - the hope of The Forum is to encapsulate the discussion in community. If you’re energized by pontification, curiosity, open dialogue and relationship, then check out The Forum.
