Malawi :: Education & Oprhans
Primary education in Malawi is free, but secondary education (the equivalent ofhigh school in the U.S.) is not. Secondary school often becomes unaffordable for children whose parents are too sick to work or have died. There is a major shortage of working professionals, especially in the medical field. The government of Malawi provides Anti-Retrovirals (ARV's) for free, but there are not enough nurses or doctors to administer these life-saving drugs. Education is the answer to this shortage. Watershed has committed to putting 25 Malawi students through secondary school. In addition, Watershed is providing fortified porridge and school supplies for two orphan daycare centers in villages near the secondary school.

India :: Church Planting and Orphan Sponsorship
The founders of Watershed, The O'neils and Hoferts, are longtime friends with a young Pastor in India named Thangkholal Haokip. Thangkholal grew up in an oprhange and was educated at a seminary where Watershed co-pastors Matt O’Neil and Scott Hofert were living and teaching in Northern India back in the 90’s. Thangkholal and his wife have planted a church in Guwahati, India and also started an orphanage impacting many of the homeless children in that city. Watershed is a proud sponsor of Thangkholal’s justice-driven work in India.
