a community of faith, hope, love and justice

Well, hello there.

Thanks for your interest in Watershed. Whether or not you have ever been part of any kind of church we want you to know that we truly desire your experience with the Watershed community to be unencumbered by your past church experiences and that you investigate our community with fresh eyes/ears and an open heart.

In our community you’ll find a rather diverse cross-section of the Charlotte and surrounding area population: all different ages, belief systems, backgrounds, economic and marital statuses, cultures, lifestyles and personalities. The beauty of our community is what really makes Watershed who we are, and unfortunately you can’t really encapsulate true community on a website, but we will attempt to do our best to answer your questions, unveil our heart to you and share how this this church with an unusual name is serving the Queen City and the world with boatloads of compassion. Know this: we believe that these moments you are spending navigating our site are part of your spiritual journey. Investigating. Questioning. Seeking.

Do you find yourself asking: “Is there more to the life I am living? Who am I becoming, and where am I headed? Will I blink and find that all I’ve done in life is assemble some Ikea furniture, and commute to work every day? Maybe you are finding these to be questions well worth pursuing in this chapter of your life. We hope to incite musings over living a life of greater purpose...a life of immense intentionality.

Whether or not you find yourself open to including God as a viable voice and influencer amidst the search for answers to life’s most meaningful questions, we can assure you that Watershed is a safe place for you to figure that out. We aren’t going to try to “wow” you with a big laser-light show on a Sunday morning, but we do offer a community gathering on Sunday mornings just off Davidson Street in NoDa (800 Everett Place) where we worship, have deep and meaningful conversations, offer teaching of great depth and grow together in the process. We see Sunday morning as only the tip of the iceberg, though...getting to know each other via serving and connecting to relationships throughout the week is what makes you feel PART of a community and not just “an attender”.

So welcome - ask us anything you want. We would count it an honor to get to know you and share life with you.
