Advent Happens: Dec. 1 - Dec. 24

The two most important days on the Christian calendar are Christmas and Easter and a great deal of energy is spent each year defending the historicity of the biblical narrative as it pertains to these two holy days. But what if, in our haste to prove what happened, we miss the more present truth of what happens? What if the gift of the biblical narrative is not a certainty grounded in the past but a promise of possibility for the present? What if we did better to remember that Advent Happens.
